Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Stuffed with Crabmeat

"You know this is pretty good. But you know what would make it better?!"

And the survey says...WRAP IT IN BACON!

This recipe is quite extensive in comparison to the other recipes I have posted on The prep time is quite long.

But its shrimp...stuffed with crab meat...and wrapped in bacon. Go for it! My friend Luke gave me this idea. I owe him for this.

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Stuffed with Crabmeat


1 dozen Jumbo Shrimp
8 tablespoons Brown Sugar
2 tablespoons Curry Powder
½ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
6 Strips of Bacon
½  lb. Lump Crabmeat
3 tablespoons Green Onion - chopped
¼ cup Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Old Bay
½ tablespoon Garlic Powder
½ stick butter (optional)
I tablespoon Chipotle Seasoning (optional)
2 tablespoons Parsley (optional) - chopped


1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
2. Spray a broiler pan with non-stick spray.
3. On a large skillet, fry bacon until it’s half cooked and still flexible.
4. Drain and set aside.
5. Mix crabmeat, mayonnaise, green onion, garlic powder and old bay seasoning in a separate bowl.
6. De-vein and butterfly the shrimp.
7. Cut bacon strips in half crosswise. 
8. In another bowl, combine brown sugar, curry powder and cayenne pepper.
9. Season bacon on both sides with brown sugar mixture.
10. Lay the bacon on broiler pan .
11. Lay the butterflied shrimp on top of the bacon in a criss-cross manner.
12. Add 1 teaspoon crabmeat to each shrimp.
13. Wrap bacon around shrimp and secure with two toothpicks.
14. Melt the butter in a small saucepan and add chipotle seasoning.
15. Brush shrimp with ½ of the chipotle butter.
16. Place the shrimp in oven for 15-20 minutes.
17. Remove from oven and brush with remaining chipotle butter.

18. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
